In August all of my petunias are looking very leggy and weak. I decided to give them a savage haircut, not really knowing if it was the right thing to do. I am cutting off most of the plant in hopes that I will get a 2nd flush of dense trailing blooms. I am in Zone 5b in Central Illinois and the containers, full of annuals, that I am working on are all in full sun facing North.
