Sri Lankan cricketers have expressed gratitude to PM Modi for sending aid amid the economic crisis. Batting legend Sanath Jayasurya called India ‘Big Brother’ and thanked the Indian govt. "You know as always as a neighbour, the big brother next to our country has been helping us... We are very grateful to the Indian government and the Prime Minister (Modi),” he said. Earlier, former Sri Lankan cricketer Arjuna Ranatunga also lauded PM Modi for helping the country. So far, India has supplied 270,000 tonnes of fuel to help ease the power crisis in Sri Lanka.
