Senior Congress leader Pawan Khera has alleged that the party submitted 89 lakh complaints of irregularities during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Bihar, but all were rejected by the Election Commission (EC).

Khera claimed that large-scale irregularities have cast doubt on the EC’s intentions, demanding that the SIR exercise be conducted again. He alleged that names of nearly 65 lakh voters were deleted from Bihar’s electoral rolls across 90,540 booths, with a disproportionate impact on women.

However, the office of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Bihar refuted the claims, stating that no Booth Level Agent (BLA) authorised by the Congress had submitted any claim or objection in the prescribed format. The CEO’s office clarified that the current draft rolls are open for public scrutiny, with provisions for objections and corrections.
