Quick Settings Method:
Press the Windows logo key + A to open the Quick Settings menu.
Click on Accessibility.

Toggle the Live Captions switch to enable or disable the feature.
Keyboard Shortcut:

Press Windows logo key + Ctrl + L to open the Live Captions window.
Agree to set it up if prompted.

Play any audio or video file, and you’ll see the captions in the box.
Start Menu Method:

Click on the Windows icon on the taskbar.
Select Settings.
Go to Accessibility.

Under Hearing, choose Captions.
Turn on the Live captions toggle.

During the initial setup, live captions may prompt you to download language files for on-device speech recognition. If your preferred language isn’t available, you can choose another language.

Customize Captions:
To adjust where captions appear on your desktop:
Click the Settings button in the live captions window.

Select Position and choose either Top, Bottom, or Floating on screen.
When docked to the top, live captions work well for video sharing in virtual meetings, while docking to the bottom might be better for other scenarios like viewing videos.

If you choose Floating on screen, you can reposition the captions overlay as needed.

To make captions easier to read:
Click the Settings button in the live captions window.
Select Preferences.

Under Caption style, choose a built-in style from the dropdown menu
