A Pakistani postgraduate student at East China Normal University is about to graduate and plans to set up a textile trade company in Lin-gang later this year.

Lin-gang is also committed to creating fertile ground for innovation and entrepreneurship, so much so that it is gradually becoming the first choice for start-ups and a place for foreign companies to set up.

A foreign talent job fair was held in Lin-gang Special Area, attracting more than 60 international students and PhD holders in STEM (science, technology, engineering or mathematics) majors from across the Yangtze River Delta region.

Lin-gang Lanwan Entrepreneurship Park is becoming a key hub for biomedicine, new energy, smart vehicles (like Tesla), robotics and new materials. The place aims to attract foreign business and entrepreneurs.

The gross domestic product of Lin-gang has increased nearly 20 percent on average annually, outpacing many places not just in China, but around the world. Additionally, about 30 percent of construction sites in Shanghai are in this area, meaning there is no doubt that Lin-gang is a crucial part of the city’s future.
