Now that France had declared war on Great Britain, it's time to take the war to the New World. The English Channel and the build-up of the British fleet will keep the mainland safe as of now. The real immediate threat is English colonial possessions. The French garrison in French Guyana makes its way towards the recently captured Dutch Guyana. General Churchill wins a great victory, and the remaining French force retreats back into French Guyana. British forces follow close behind. In Canada, General McDowell takes Fort Nashwaak. It's the beginning of a grand campaign to seize Canada from France. General Churchill besieges French forces hiding in French Guyana and seizes the territory from France. South American territories are secured for now. Disaster appears as a French force has landed in the British Bahamas. With no immediate force to defend the islands, they will quickly fall to French colonial forces. However, the French fleet that lands the troops is quite battered and is an easy target for the British fleet nearby. The fleet strikes and manages to capture the French ships, only the larger ships are taken, the fire ships are sold off for money to fund the wars. Despite the French fleet being destroyed, French forces still capture the Bahamas. A British force will need to be diverted to recapture the island. The Iroquois confederacy has been at war with Britain and her colonies for a while. British forces finally begin their move against them to defend their colonies. A settlement in Iroquois lands has surrender to British forces without a fight, splitting them in two. This would make it easier to quickly defeat the Iroquois in detail. British forces continue to threaten French colonial possessions, as General Churchill has landed on the Windward Islands.

Great Britain is not a natural creation, but the marriage of separate kingdoms and peoples. The new nation has been through a century of unparalleled turbulence: an unwelcome joining of Scotland and England; religious strife; civil wars; an executed king; military dictatorship; a populist monarch restored; and the overthrow of a second king. Less than 15 years ago, the hated Catholic James II was forced into exile in the Glorious Revolution and a Protestant monarchy restored. A short, vicious war in Ireland put paid to any chance of a Catholic Stuart restoration. Nonetheless, the exiled James Stuart has sympathisers, the Jacobites, throughout Britain. Despite – or perhaps because of – this turbulent history, Britain is an engine driving the scientific and cultural advancement of northern Europe: turmoil fuels creativity.
Britain’s strength lies at sea, but in trade and colonisation as much as naval power. Trade taxes pay for the navy; the navy allows unhindered trade. The English Channel keeps the French at bay and, to a lesser extent, the Dutch. With Dutchman William III on the British throne, there is ambivalence in the traditional rivalry with the Netherlands!
The English and Scots like to think that they can sleep safe, that no foreign invader or tyranny need worry them. They are partly right, but only as long as there is no centralised Continental power. A nation that can unite the resources of Europe will surely crush the dream of Albion. This, then, is the fundamental aim of Britain: to side with the weak in Europe against the strong – and steal as many overseas possessions as possible while doing it!
