EPFO Death Benefits for Dependent/Parents/Children - AS Per EDLI, PF & Employee Pension Scheme

As per Employee Provident fund act 1952 government through EPFO provides various benefits to its members like interest on the contribution amount, facility of advance withdrawal in special cases, retirement benefit during the lifetime of the members.
The EPFO also provides death benefits to nominee of the EPF members in case of his death like PF settlement, lifetime pension benefits to dependent, term insurance of Rs. 7 Lacs (maximum). All this benefits are available online, but due to unawareness these benefits are not availed easily by the dependents.
For availing all 3 benefits, which is Insurance benefits – ( Form 5 if ), pension benefit (Form 10 D) and total PF settlement (Form 20). Although earlier one must require to fill these 3 forms for availing different benefits under different schemes, but now EPFO has made it easy and all these requirement can be completed by using one form only name – “Composite Claim Form in Death Cases”
The following documents required to attached with this form –
1. Death Certificate of member
2. Joint photograph of all the claimants
3. Date of Birth certificate of children claiming pension & other nominee also
4. Scheme Certificate (if applicable) – (if required)
5. a copy of cancelled cheque or attested copy of first page of bank Pass Book - For verification of bank accounts
6. Declaration of employer that the member died during his employment.
For getting pension the all dependent must have bank account in one branch of any of the following banks –
1. State bank of India
2. Punjab National bank
3. ICICI Bank
4. HDFC Bank
5. Axis Bank
