Описание к видео Master Audio LSN12/8 faliure

The death of the Master Audio LSN12/8. This soundspeaker described as a 500W RMS professional woofer with from 56 to 3500 Hz frequency response - knowing that data this is not a woofer from now on but the MA calls it woofer (funny). A professional designed - with computer aid - and made a proper reflex speaker box for this. Yes it was a quite interesting task because the Master Audio doesn't provide any useful data about their speakers - even when I asked them to send me more information about this speaker - so it was a blind flying a little bit. Knowing this we tuned up the box (with the reflex holes) to a compromising 60Hz. Then I assembled the box with a proper, well designed and very precise frequency shifter (Xover): DN-1218PAX. When I tried to pump the volume up to 350-400 Watt (three quarter revolution on the amplifier potmeter) the speaker coil just hit the back of the speaker magnet and damaged. The amplifier is a very qualitative PA amplifer with a very good damping factor: Stageline STA 1400. The speaker cables is about 10 meter long with a 1,5 mm2 cross-section. In the video you can hear the cracking noise (just kill the bass with a mixer or similar and you can clearly hear it) from the speaker due to the deformation of the coil. I used this speaker only for about 30 minutes with not at maximum power of the amplifier. The Xmax is very small of this speaker (I think it is only +-2÷3mm). This speaker only be used as a satellite speaker with a cut above at 100-150 Hz. I cannot imagine how this speaker can stand 500 Watt RMS as a "woofer" in a full range sound speaker system. This speaker is as worth as it's price suggests. The MA completely deceiving the people with this speaker: It has a large magnet, 4" coil (for why I don't understand, because the speaker cannot suffer long strokes), "500W RMS", missing data like T/S parameters etc.

I cannot upload a video about the compression driver, because I sold it. But it had a problem also as well. With a not too low Xfreq @2500Hz, damped with an L-pad (voltage divider) form 109dB @1w/1m - yes, the master audio calls this information as an SPL value, but this is the sensitivity* - to 97dB @1w/1m as the "woofer". I repeat, the Xover is a very good one, it has a 18dB/decade gradient at 2500Hz. But the DR8 driver also had a very loud cracking noise near @400 Watt power loading. It's terrible and aggravating. Yes, the DR8 driver is also as worth as it's price suggests. My professional calculated, that the driver only receive only about 50W RMS at the maximum power level of my amplifier (450W @8 Ohm). Damn! It is a driver with about 130mm outer diamater and 200W max power (or at least the MA says)!
How can I made an all night long party with this speakers? Nohow!!!
Thanks for watching and I hope that I have enlightened you a little with this information.

*Sound Pressure Level : SPL is the RMS value of the Sound Pressures measured over a specified period of time, measured in decibels (dB).
