How to install a new cap seal in a COLEMAN LANTERN // Restoring vintage Coleman Lanterns

How to install new seals on a vintage coleman lantern.
If your tank won't hold pressure for an extended period of time (i.e you have to keep pumping it up) you basically have 3 main issues:

1.) Cap seal leaking
2.) Check Valve leaking
3.) Hole in font (aka tank)

If the cap seal is good and/or has been replaced, then your Check Valve is the next thing to look at. You can try and clean the Check Valve with carb cleaner inside the pump tube. If that does not work the Check Valve will need to be removed, cleaned or replaced. There is a special tool to remove a check valve. http://www.flyballequip.com/other-pro...
