St Fagan’s National Museum of History. FREE family day out in Cardiff!

We visit St Fagan’s National Museum of History located 4 miles west of Cardiff city centre.

This is a completely FREE day out for you and the family where all you have to pay for is £7 for the day to park your car.

St Fagan’s is one of Europe’s leading open air museums and Wales most popular heritage attraction. It was the winner of the 2019 UK art fund museum of the year.

The museum stands in the grounds of a late 16th century Manor House donated to the people of Wales by the Earl of Plymouth in 1948.

There are over 50 historic buildings from all over Wales that have been rebuilt at the museum including a victorian school, medieval church and workmen’s institute with 3 galleries.

There is a cafe at the entrance and while you are walking around, gift shop, pub and fish & chip shop.

It is also dog friendly and has a play area for children.

It is recommended to allow at least 3 hours for your visit.

Open daily 10am - 5pm
Except Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day & New yEARS day.
