Minolta Maxxum (Alpha, Dynax) 7 Video 1: Overview | Camera Features, Functions, Layout, and Design

Описание к видео Minolta Maxxum (Alpha, Dynax) 7 Video 1: Overview | Camera Features, Functions, Layout, and Design

The Minolta Maxxum 7 (Alpha 7, Dynax 7) was a high-end, advanced-user flagship camera It sports a significant number of features and, happily, lacks much of the kitsch that lower-tier cameras include, such as scene modes and other automatic shooting options. The Maxxum 7 provided users with a host of exceptional features all of which had great usability. It also allowed extensive customization through the custom functions features so that each user could make the 7 a camera ideally suited to them.

This series builds on the camera review and sample photos by providing detailed use and instruction for the Minolta 7. Video 1 presents a features overview showing the interface, layout, buttons, design, and covering where all the different things on the camera are placed. Video 2 provides a detailed look at how to use all of the functions that are not within the custom functions menu. Video 3 examines each custom function and describes what each function option does, how it affects camera use and photography, and why each function is ideally used.

As a note, this video series, from the review through completion, was cursed or something. The review required three separate 7 bodies, if I recall correctly, to complete. This manual series required five trips to the studio and each trip was beset by technical problems. The first outing saw the entire video series recorded only to later find that the mic's batteries died during the first video and the entire audio was backgrounded by a loud rumble. The second take used a different mic and that mice's RF unit failed. The third take resulted in clean recordings of the first two videos but the third video didn't record completely. The fourth trip to the studio to re-do the third video results in unusable footage due to lighting changes during recording from a studio light failing and the sun setting, rendering the video unusably dark. The final take for this video resulted in clean audio for video 3 but the A7S II either had an issue with focus confirmation or the tripod slipped after focusing and the entire video is slightly out of focus. I did not have it in me to record Video 3 a sixth time. Each take on Video 3 required approximately 75 minutes of talking into the camera to go over all the items in the menu system and communicate back to myself editing notes. Suffice to say, this manual series is not one I would say that I'm proud of the video or audio work on.
