Hello neighbor, this is Curt with etrailer, and today we're gonna take a look at this custom cargo liner from WeatherTech and see how it fits inside of our 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe. Now, if you watch this video and you decide this is the cargo mat for you, once you purchase it and use it a few times, why don't you tell us how you think about it in the comments below. Now, a cargo liner could be a very important piece for any vehicle if you really want to keep that factory carpet in your cargo area protected. This place is pretty susceptible to damage just because the kind of things that we can throw in and outta here, particularly in a vehicle like this where you've got a lot of cargo space to be able to carry some things that might be a little bit dirtier or messier. Now the material is especially constructed, it's completely waterproof.

It is molded to fit the inside of our Grand Cherokee 4xe pretty much to perfection. The texture on the bottom is gripped, so it doesn't really slide around on our carpet at all, and it's channeled as well, to kind of help pull liquids away from the sidewalls, which by the way, it's got a nice sidewall to it that's gonna come around and protect our molding, the back of our seats, and a bit of a lip here in the front just to keep things from spilling over too much. And as you can see, it contours nicely all around our edges here, including right over here. It's got a bit of a curve that it fits up to nicely. It doesn't reach all the way across our floor.

It does, however, completely cover the carpeted area, but there is some plastic molding on either side that does remain exposed. The one thing that I didn't really expect with as good as how it fits everywhere else, is that this lip back here wasn't going all the way up against the back of the vehicle seat. But really, as I look at it a little bit more, the way that this is structured back here where it has this kind of rolled up lip for the third row, it probably wouldn't lay all that well if it did it anyway. And frankly, the sidewall is high enough that I'm not really worried about anything spilling that way, also because everything slopes toward the back. But generally, I think this is an excellent fit inside of the back of our Grand Cherokee 4xe.

When you get it out the package, however, it's important to note that it is going to be rolled up, so when you lay it down in here, it's gonna wanna curl in on itself. My recommendation would be to leave it overnight with some weight on it. We did that yesterday and we left it indoors. If you want it to mold even better, frankly, you put some weight on it, leave it outside for an afternoon because that heat is gonna also help it lay flat. So that's a look at the WeatherTech custom cargo liner in the cargo area of our 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe.
