This by far is my most favorite attachment for the KA stand mixer!! This will also slice and shred but I mainly use it for chopping. However, it does NOT chop tomatoes well unless maybe they are harder tomatoes, but does a great job with onions, peppers, carrots, potatoes, celery and other vegi's .
My sis over at Citygirl homestead    / @citygirlhomestead   gave me the onions please like, share and subscribe to her channel also. We both do things way different but get some nice yummy meals on the table at not a big cost. I am more of a gadget girl and she is like oven/stove. But that is OK to each our own. I have converted her to a few gadgets but she resists most of them!
I ended up with 2 full bags of onions from that pile. Please if you do this even by hand that you double bag before putting in the freezer as what ever you store will go into the foods in your freezer. This makes it super simple when you want onions etc in your meals and you just dont want to dirty a cutting board and knife and make more dishes to do.
