At the CLIMAFIX Summit 2024, Trupti Arabatti, the founder and CEO of Earthworks, introduces the company's innovative work in creating biodegradable biocomposites made from agro-waste. Earthworks combines cellulosic biomass and biopolymers to develop eco-friendly materials that can replace traditional plastics in various industries such as food packaging, cosmetics, automotive, and electronics. The company’s materials are 30-40% more sustainable than conventional plastics. Earthworks is currently exploring Injection molding, 3D printing, and textile applications, developing compostable filaments and fibers. With growing interest and early success, Earthworks is looking to scale up and bring their sustainable solutions to a larger market.

The CLIMAFIX Summit is an annual gathering of climate leaders organized by IIT Madras Energy Consortium & Energy Alternatives India (EAI).
