Arcturus Generative Ambient // MicroFreak // MS-70CDR

Here's a slow-moving generative ambient jam exploring the Cloud Grains oscillator on the Arturia MicroFreak synthesizer together with a custom effect chain on the Zoom MS-70CDR effect pedal.

The patches for the MircoFreak and the MS-70CDR are both part of the soundbank "Berlin School and Ambient Construction Kit" available for purchase from https://gumroad.com/waveformer.

This soundbank features 20 custom MicroFreak patches, 12 custom samples and 21 custom Zoom MS-70CDR effect patches. Each MicroFreak patch is designed with its own MS-70 effect patch, treating the two boxes as one integrated instrument. Those of you who have both the MicroFreak and the MS-70 can load the matching patches on each box and play them together. The MS-70 effect patches will also work well with other synths, so if you don't have a MicroFreak, you'll be able to have fun with just the effects. The effect chain is described in the accompanying booklet, so if you have a MicroFreak but no MS-70, you can have a go at recreating the effect chain using other hardware or software effects - or just play with the MicroFreak patches as they are.

The audio is recorded to SD card on a KP2S effect/recorder box and normalized in Audacity. Video is recorded on a Canon EOS M50 mk2 with the included EF-M 15-45mm lens. Audio and video is synchronized in DaVinci Resolve 18 (free version).
