In this video, we’ll show you how to remove age restrictions on the YouTube app. If you've encountered blocks while watching videos that have been tagged as age-appropriate, there are a couple of things you can do to get rid of them.

YouTube had to enforce a restricted mode due to a safety act that was passed a few years ago. If your account shows that you're under 18 years old, you'll automatically be restricted.

To turn off restricted mode, open the YouTube app and tap your profile picture in the top right corner. Next, select Settings and then General. Ensure that the Restricted Mode setting is turned off. If it's on, that may be the reason why you couldn't view age-appropriate content.

If turning off Restricted Mode doesn't work, try changing your birthdate to show that you're over 18 years old. To do that, tap your profile icon again, select "Manage your Google Account," and then tap the "Personal info" tab. Choose your birthday and make sure it shows that you're over 18 years old.

If you encounter any issues, some users have reported that logging out and back in again has resolved the issue. Additionally, Google may require you to upload proof of your age. While it's uncommon, some users have experienced this.
