Part 1: sanding and cutting

High speed sanding on a huge tank like this saves a CRAP LOAD of time, so even if it’s in good shape and needs less sanding... using a 3000-3500 rpm polisher will cut your sanding time by at least half if not more. I use a special foam backing plate, I find this minimizes the chances of leaving grooves in your surface, the trick is to keep moving at a steady pace. Then, even tho not necessary I’ll use a DA sander to smooth out the surface even more making the polishing process a bit easier. 6000 rpm grinder for cutting wit 439T Green Menzerna Compound.
