Btw stay until the end, because at the end I discuss the dark lore of this game and i try to translate a japan only comercial of Pokopia, that might hint towards something big about Peakachu the new pale Pikachu.
Nintendo seems to be big on releasing or in the case of Animal Corssing – rereleasing 1ST PARTY Cozy games.
In the first half of this year alone we’re getting Tomodachi Life Living the dream, Pokopia and we even received the swtich 2 version and the 3.0 Animal Crossing Update. One could wonder… are we going to get burnt out by these releases? From my point of view – no. The main reason for this is because these 3 games, while being cozy games sure, differ fundamentally in various ways. Especially Pokopia seems to be the game that’s sticking out the most. How do we avoid getting burnt out? Are we going to get burnt out on the game like with animal crossing. Well no, because this game is not animal crossing.

YES YOU HEARD ME – BEN 10! In this game Ditto can transform parts of his body or can straight up become a different pokemon in the case of Dragonite and Lapras. It seems Pokopia will have take Bayonetta 3’s spot for best Ben 10 game in my book.
What I’m interested and what I’m mostly looking forward to is how evolution will be handled in the game. Will the pokemon evolve via friendship. Will there be hostile pokemon that attack our setllments. Keep in mind we still don’t know what happens at night in this game. Pokopia might turn not so cozy out afterall if we have… Idk… zombie ot skeleton pokemon and we have to fight them tower defence style. That sounds so cool though… Maybe a system could be at place where the pokemon we have on our towns could join us on adventures like in Ever Oasis. It would be cool if some Pokemon took over the roles of shopkeeprs, klerks etc in this game just like in Ever Oasis. Play that game if you have a 3ds – I highly recommend.

The Inhabitants seem much more livelier then the Animal Crossing villagers.
There has been a lot of comparison being drawn to Animal Crossing New Horizons. Because you start on a desolate island, which you can terraform and customize to your hearts extent. There are lovable characters that can slowly, but surly inhabit your island. You create your home and you can design it however you want with all sorts of furniture. There is a Day and Night cycle that’s real time. Colorful npcs exist that differ from the residents. I can see why people have their doubts if this game will become burnout inducing for them, especially if they just switched over from animal crossing. But the cool part is, that this game expands so much on the animal crossing approach. The residents in Pokopia – the Pokemon – are so much more livelier and so much more interactive then those in animal crossing. The sheer fact that they are pokemon makes it even better then the lame-o Villagers in Animal Crossing. We already have an emotional connection with these creatures and having them show personality thtough interesting dialog will be the cherry on top of this game.
The pokemon themselves seem to have needs and requests for you to fulfil. Pokemon can also help build grand houses, as they specify in the trailer. This is so cool and it creates such a nice sense of community and togetherness.

What to do when we inevitably get burnt out.
I’m not gonna lie, this is a game and often I get burnt out on games. Not any ganre specifically I just don’t wanna play games. So what do we do then, when we’re sick of a game or just gaming in general. Well I have some tips… they might not work for all nationalities, especially if you live in an unwalkable city. But yeah – go out and take a nice big massive walk. Make 10k steps or even higher. Come back home clean your place, take care of yourself. Take a shower treat yourself with food you love. Just give yourself a break. The body makes us feel burnt out when we want to take a break from something so listen to it. Take a break. Start meditating, read a book – start running, start learning a new language, acquire a new skill. Gaming isn’t everything and you know it. Pokopia or animal crossing or what have you can start feeling like chores and tasks, because you played these games when you needed stability in your life – well guess what… you probably have it now and your body is sending you signals that this routine you’ve build doesn’t work anymore. So yeah – go out and touch grass, hug a tree – that’s my advice.
