Ring mandrels are a great tool for completing various tasks for example;
For accurately determining the size of a ring, simply slide your ring down the mandrel and which ever mark it lands on that’s the size!
Stretching Rings: when you know the size you wish to stretch your ring to. Simply slide the ring down your mandrel and with a mallet tap the ring until you have the perfect size. Make sure to tap all sides of the ring to have an evenly stretch ring flip the ring and repeat the process.
Forming Wire: here I have a 9 ½ inch copper wire If its too long you can always cut off the extra wire, now wrap the wire around the size you wish your ring to be, about 2/3 times, now take the two ends and twirl in the same direction as if their chasing one another snip off the access wire if you need to and tuck the ends under the swirl. Try on the ring to make sure the ends are safely tucked in and not pointing out.
