Pilgrimage in India is an important part of every Hindu person's life. Everyone knows that Chitrakoot is an important stop in this Char Dham pilgrimage. But do you know that there is a place in Chitrakoot itself without visiting which your pilgrimage is incomplete That place is Kamadgiri, which is often called the real Chitrakoot.
Kamadgiri has special significance in Ramayana. This is the same place where Lord Ram, Sita and Lakshman spent their 11 years of exile. This is also the place where Bharat-Milak took place.

According to the mythological story of Ramayana, when Lord Shri Ram decided to leave this mountain and move ahead the mountain expressed concern to him and told him that the importance of Chitrakoot was only till Shri Ram stayed there and after his departure from there After that no one will ask about that place. Hearing this concern Lord Shri Ram blessed the mountain that whoever completes the circumambulation of this mountain his wish will be fulfilled and the journey to Chitrakoot Dham will also be considered completed only after circumambulating this mountain. This mountain was named Kamadgiri after the name of the wish fulfilling mountain and today thousands of devotees circumambulate Kamadgiri with their wishes in their mind and with the desire to fulfill them.
