The Almighty Father sent his Son, Jesus Christ, to be the light of the world. As it is written, "The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light." God is the source of light for our path, the embodiment of truth, and the illumination of our salvation.
We do not rely on our own might, wealth, or strength to save us. Instead, we surrender to God and put our faith in His perfect Son. God's ultimate salvation from sin and His wrath is reflected in the countless ways He saves us from harm every day.
As Christians, we need not fear, for our fear is not from God and is unnecessary. God is sovereign, and nothing can happen apart from His will and His good plan. He watches over His children, never slumbering.
A stronghold is like a fortress with high walls. While fortresses can be breached, if God wills to protect us, He will protect us. Man may build fortresses and walls for protection, as David did, but he knew that without God's protection, those walls would fall. As followers of Christ who live according to His purposes, we need not fear anything or anyone.
