Mike Connors explores the life of Mariette Bermowitz who, named “Mindele” as a little girl, escaped and hid from the Nazis during World War II. Ms. Bermowitz documented her struggle and remarkable life in her memoir, “Mindele's Journey: Memoir of a Hidden Child of the Holocaust.”
Ms. Bermowitz tells Mike about how she was separated from her mother and siblings who died in concentration camps, hiding in a convent and later in rural Belgium, reuniting with her father, coming to America, teaching languages and journeying to the near and middle east to help others.
