So I went fishing today but not much action, a few blues on the beach caught on bait today but that was it for the beach. So I decided to take the time to introduce you to a few alternatives to Uncle Josh since they are closing shop. First is the rabbit strip. It is fantastic in the water. Has a thick profile and the hair can be trimmed down if you need a thinner more wavy profile. it will add a little weight to your bucktail too and cast well does not slow you down. Comes in many colours and can be bought online cheap and easy. Its about 5.00 with shipping for about 4 12" strips good for 20-30 strips! pretty inexpensive and probably better then bucktail in motion but not durability. Second are craft felt strips. They have an amazing action when wet and believe it or not indestructible to ravenous attacks by blues! They come in many colours and although I have not purchased them I believe they too are inexpressive as compared to 10.00 for 8 pork strips. They were introduced to me and given a bunch by a very good friend Paul. Thank you Paul!
