This video is a climps behind the smoke screen. It's easy to think when we go to luxury bars drinking luxury cocktails that they were developed in just as luxurious conditions. That's not quite how I work.


Creating luxury menus in my slippers. That's how it goes.

I'm a cocktail developer and consultant for bars based in Manchester, UK. Currently I'm working with a brand who owns 2 high end London and Global bars. I've been given the extraordinary and creative role of creating the new cocktail menus for both these bars.

When I was working as a bartender in small independents, this type of role was my ultimate dream, however, it seemed so out of reach. I would of loved to have someone or something show me how it works and open the possibilities to me that it's actually achievable to work for big brands and high end brands when you don't have a cocktail lab or live in London.

Which is why I'm going to be vlogging various steps in this project to showcase what it's like, at least for myself.

As well as to show that what really matters with cocktail creating is the end products. How it tastes, how it looks, and the environment which it's served. Not your own personal developing style. You can create dive bar cocktails from London cocktail labs and you can create the worlds most expensive cocktail in your back garden. It's not the process, its the end product that counts.

This is the first part which consists of the 27 hours before the first big tasting. The last few weeks have been spent creating cocktails from home but tomorrow I will be heading down to London, meeting with the big bosses and presenting my ideas for the new menu. Hectic times? absolutely. Prepared? Absolutely not.
