Hunter RMV, founded in 2015 by Keith Storey in Minden, Nevada, was born out of necessity. When Storey couldn’t find a capable, spacious, and reliable expedition vehicle for his family, he decided to build one himself. That first prototype, aptly nicknamed “The Beast,” set the foundation for Hunter RMV—short for Hunter Repurposed Military Vehicles. The company specializes in transforming surplus military trucks into high-end, long-range expedition rigs, capable of handling the harshest terrains on Earth.

The Predator 4x4 Expedition Truck is their latest masterpiece, built on the proven Stewart & Stevenson M1078-A1 military chassis, remanufactured by Acela Truck Company. Under the hood lies a 7.2-liter Caterpillar turbodiesel inline-six, producing 330 horsepower, paired with a 7-speed Allison automatic transmission. With full-time four-wheel drive, 48-inch Goodyear tires, 23 inches of ground clearance, and a central tire inflation system, the Predator is engineered to power through sand dunes, rocky mountain trails, and deep mud without breaking a sweat. A 110-gallon fuel tank ensures a range of more than 800 miles, making it perfect for extended expeditions far from civilization.

For extreme conditions, the Predator comes with a custom articulating subframe, a 25,000 lb Sherpa winch, full Baja Designs LED lighting, and even a fording kit that allows the truck to cross rivers up to 50 inches deep. At the back, there’s a motorcycle lift platform for secondary transport, while an electric Fiamma awning and slide-out Traeger grill add a touch of comfort for downtime in the wild.

Inside the cab, upgraded Sheel-Man seats ensure comfort during long drives, while modern tech like Garmin navigation, Alpine head unit, and a 360-degree camera system keeps the journey safe and convenient. The living quarters, built into a 15-foot composite box, are equally impressive. Accessible via an Arctic Tern door or cab pass-through, the mobile habitat includes a small but elegant kitchen with granite countertops, induction cooktop, stainless sink, and drawer-style fridge and freezer.

The dinette area seats four with a telescoping table and integrated outlets, while the bedroom at the rear features a queen-size mattress, overhead storage, and a full closet. A compact wet bathroom with a shower, Separett toilet, and lighted medicine cabinet completes the setup. The Predator is built for self-sufficiency, boasting 125 gallons of fresh water filtered through reverse osmosis, 35 gallons of gray water storage, and a robust off-grid power system. This includes a 1,000 Ah lithium battery bank, 1200W solar panels, and dual Honda generators, ensuring comfort even in the most remote corners of the world.

Connectivity hasn’t been overlooked either, as the Predator comes with Starlink In Motion satellite internet, a WeBoost cell booster, and a smart TV, allowing travelers to stay connected wherever they roam.

With its blend of rugged engineering and luxurious living, the Hunter RMV Predator 4x4 stands as one of the most capable expedition vehicles ever built.
