As the technology of spinning progressed, spinning wheels became increasingly more complex. Compared to the Great Wheel, the Treadle or Flax Wheel is more mechanized and has quite a few more parts. This wheel allows for the spinner to get in a good rhythm and continuously spin with no need to stop and wind back on.
