"Operations" mode in Delta Force is a free-to-play extraction shooter packed with quality-of-life features that make it easy to get into. While not innovative, it delivers satisfying gunplay, and the low time-to-kill demands a tactical approach. Audio plays a key role, often serving as the first clue to enemy positions, while stealth and careful movement are essential to avoid getting ambushed. Currently, it features 4 maps, highly customizable real-world weapons, and nine operators, each offering distinct gameplay options.


The gameplay loop is straightforward. You buy gear, drop into a map, and fight other teams while looting and pushing to extract. If you die, you lose everything. If you extract, you keep what you loot, which can then be sold or reused. The game currently only offers a trios play mode. You can queue with less, but you will play against largely full trios. There's also a squad-fill option, but that is very hit-or-miss


There are, however, a couple of issues. A steep learning curve and no matchmaking mean new players will have to accept dying a lot. Also, no progression wipes mean newcomers face heavily geared veterans, furthering balance issues in a game where your gear makes a massive impact. There are also some pay-to-win elements. Players can buy larger safe pockets, allowing them to extract more guaranteed loot or carry high-tier ammo without risk. Expensive gacha skins can also reduce visibility, offering a slight advantage. While not game-breaking, these features do give paying players an edge. As a free-to-play game, cheating is also a concern, but hopefully something that is addressed soon.



Overall, Operations is an accessible but unforgiving extraction shooter. However, if you can handle the balance issues and outmatched fights combined with the high risk gameplay, it can also be a very rewarding experience
