This webinar was a joint effort with the PA Department of Human Services’ (DHS) Office of Long-Term Living Office (OLTL), Office of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (OMHSAS), the Behavioral Health (BH) MCOs, and the Community HealthChoices (CHC) MCOs and was hosted by PHCA. Other collaborative partners included the PA Department of Health and LeadingAge PA.

Through various stakeholder channels, DHS has received feedback about the importance of providing behavioral health services in nursing facilities and making sure nursing facilities know how to access these services. In response to this feedback, DHS has taken the initiative to develop a webinar on Behavioral Health for the Nursing Facility Population that was held three times, twice in April and once in early May 2022. The webinars were interactive and were meant for nursing facilities to have the opportunity to ask questions and begin a dialog on how to improve behavioral health services in their facilities. The webinars also allowed the BH MCOs, the CHC MCOs, and the nursing facilities to further collaborate on this issue.

Individuals could attend any session, as the material presented was the same; however, the audience questions were different depending upon the participants attending each session. The webinars were recorded.
