In 2019, I was 25 years old and told my family (who has never hiked before) that I was attempting the Appalachian Trail alone. To no surprise, they were terrified. But this is everything I did to convince them not to worry and I would be safe out there. Now they are 100% on board and can't wait until I start another thru-hike one day!

I also talk about my experience hiking with a significant other at home, and how we managed our relationship during the thru-hike.
