I'm using this account, for now, just to showcase some of my favourite levels and describe a bit about why they are so great and what about them inspires me. I'll probably do this until I finally finish one of my own levels, but I don't really don't know if that will ever happen. Here's hoping !!

Anyways, the first level I wanted to showcase is False Horizon by Lumpy. This really has not lost a single cell of its originality or impact since its release. It has always been the staple for me on how to progress and pace a level. The attention to detail in musical representation is so well crafted, it's honestly insane how many small moving parts come together to create this uncanny atmosphere. One of my favourite aspects of lumpy's level is how varied the deco is when representing a new musical element, such as a higher-pitched tone. I honestly don't know if there is another level uploaded on the servers that has this much nuance put into its musical representation. The static black noise, the piercing red sirens, the purple middle-tone ground, the almost rich use of glow in the last section; It really shows you how important the small details are, especially in a level this bleak.

There's really not much to critique in this level. I mean, the gameplay is obviously slightly annoying, but that's obviously done with purpose, seeing as I am always on edge whenever I make it to the final portion of this level (I have literally beaten this level 6 times or more). I loved that feeling I first got when playing this, when I really didn't know what to expect. Which blocks were going to kill me, which ones weren't?

It just feels like Lumpy did everything he wanted to do with this song; it's all so purposeful, and you can tell how hard he worked to actually put fear into the players, which is a really impressive thing to be able to do. I know it's something that will always be in my top levels when I'm done with this game.
