The Hindu Lit for Life 2016, South India's biggest literature festival was held on Jan 15, 16 & 17 at Sir Mutha Venkatasubba Rao Concert Hall, Chetpet, Chennai, India.
Friday, January 15: Memory, Dreams, Desire, Statues and Ghosts: Images of the CITY from the paintings of Gulammohammed Sheikh – The artist in conversation with Sadanand Menon
During the session, Gulammohammed Sheikh reminiscenced about his home town in Gujarat and growing up there. He also spoke about moving to Baroda when he was young and the time he spent there. Calling it the city of festivals, and recalled how Muharram and Ganesh Chadurti were celebrated in a grand fashion.
