Curling Sisterlocks and Microlocks

Описание к видео Curling Sisterlocks and Microlocks

I curl my locs several ways depending upon the look I'm trying to accomplish and how long I need my curls to last.
A few things to keep in mind with loc curling...

1. You can curl your locs with just about anything--headbands, old school sponge rollers, perm rods, flexi rods, wrap a loc tools, pipecleaners, or bantu knots and others. The finished look is determined by the size of the roller, the tension you use, whether you overlap or spiral roll, and the number of locs per roller.

2. Setting solutions and holding sprays are optional. Beware that many holding sprays contain alcohol and can tend to make your locs hard. I simply roll my locs while damp either after washing or with water in a spray bottle. I am not a huge fan of using products on Sisterlocks/Microlocks.

3. I prefer air drying, but will occassionally sit under the dryer or hit with the blowdryer.

4. The longer the hair, the more quickly your curls will fall-- whether you use setting lotion or not. Like grown women's breasts.... gravity is gonna do what gravity does🤷🏾‍♀️. More mature locs are heavier, so this also works against you even with shorter lengths.

5. Using a bonnet at night can work for or against you...depending if you're a sweater or not.

As your curls relax, they will always create a soft frame to any face shape. Don't fret about falling curls, it's actually sexy, so just go with it.😉

I've stretched my wash day to 4.5 weeks to preserve curls before. I typically recommend washing every couple of weeks, but if you're not using products daily or being exposed to the outdoor elements often and don't have scalp issues, you can ride out a good curl set for weeks. Do what works best for you.
