Winter driving can be dangerous—especially when your backup camera lens gets covered with dirt, slush, and salt. ❄️🚗
On my 2014 Honda CR-V, the rear camera becomes almost unusable in winter, forcing me to reverse blindly at night… which is not safe at all.

So I decided to fix this problem by installing a backup camera washer system using a windshield washer kit from Amazon, originally meant for older cars.

This simple DIY mod can significantly improve night-time reversing safety, especially in snowy and muddy conditions.

I will use this setup for a while, and later I’ll see if I can utilize the existing rear window washer pipe by adding a T-joint connector, extending the line, and installing a nozzle near the backup camera. If that works, I can integrate it into the factory washer system, which would be even more awesome.

In that case, I may not need to use the entire kit—only certain parts like the nozzle, connectors, and tubing. I’ll first identify whether this integration is easy to do, and if not, I’ll continue using the current setup.
