The Park is special due to its unique Watts Memorial, a touching and very emotional tribute to ordinary people who died while trying to save the lives of others. This park was particularly popular as a lunchtime garden for workers from the nearby old General Post Office and, as a result, the park soon became known as "Postman's Park."
