Chinese private space launch company Galactic Energy achieve their latest launch success on 7th Dec 2021.
Galactic Energy successfully launched 5 commercial satellites into a sun-synchronous orbit of 500km. The launch was carried out by Ceres I rocket from Jiuquan satellite launch center.
It is reported to be the most cost-effective small launch vehicle in the commercial launch market at present.
Galactic Energy is directly aiming at competing with SpaceX in low-end market of commercial launch missions.
This Chinese space mission achieved the first consecutive success of domestic private rocket and the first multiple satellites with one private rocket, marking a total success of Ceres I commercial rocket.
Ceres I rocket is a four-stage small private owned launch vehicle developed by Galactic Energy Space Corporation. It aims at launching commercial small satellites for Chinese and international clients.
The first 3 stages of the rocket use solid engines, and the 4th is a liquid upper stage. The rocket has a diameter of 1.4m and length is 20m, has a 500-kilometer sun-synchronous orbit carrying capacity of 300 kilograms.
The 5 satellites launched include one infrared observation satellite, scientific experiment satellite and remote sensing satellite.
The company is working on enhancing mass production delivery ability to carry out the parts in bulk production, further planning and construction of rocket assembly integrated pulse assembly line, and further enhance the level of the production process.
Chinese government owned and private space corporations are finishing a record year with a few more launches to come.
