The Long Version of Winter Winds & Muddy Miles A Bike Adventure Before Christmas

Описание к видео The Long Version of Winter Winds & Muddy Miles A Bike Adventure Before Christmas

The afternoon ride on Saturday, December 14, 2024, was a celebration of grit and holiday spirit. Starting on the Northaven Trail, we carved through muddy paths, slicing the curves like pros, and pushed hard to reach White Rock Lake going counter-clockwise. The trail was slick from recent rain, adding an extra layer of thrill as we navigated the slippery terrain.

After days of cold and wet weather, today’s fresh air and perfect December temperature were gifts in themselves. A mild breeze from the northwest at 8 mph added a subtle resistance, while the clear skies reminded us Christmas is just around the corner.

Fueled by gels and electrolytes, my legs screamed with every pedal stroke—lactate levels soaring, pain and satisfaction dancing hand in hand. It’s the kind of agony that fuels the soul. The final stretch back through the White Rock Trail, merging again with Northaven, felt like victory.

Cycling in December might be about enduring exhaustion, but today, it was also about embracing the season—muddy shoes, wind-chilled cheeks, and the joy of a perfect pre-holiday adventure on the trails.
