BAE Systems' solar-electric High Altitude Pseudo Satellite (HAPS), the PHASA-35, successfully completed a 24-hour flight, reaching altitudes over 66,000 feet and cruising in the stratosphere. This marked a significant milestone for the aircraft, which landed in serviceable condition and was ready for another flight just two days later, showcasing its rapid turnaround capabilities.

Designed for persistent surveillance, communications, and environmental monitoring, the PHASA-35 can potentially remain airborne for up to a year. Its 35-meter wingspan and ultra-lightweight solar cells enable efficient energy harvesting from the sun, resulting in zero emissions during operation.
