The Talent of Barry Pepper

Описание к видео The Talent of Barry Pepper

Making his worldwide debut on the silver screen in one of the best performances of his career still to date as Private Jackson in Steven Spielberg's 'Saving Private Ryan,' Barry Pepper made a huge impact on the classic's most memorable scenes and instantly connected with audiences.

Barry continued starring in prominent roles for prestige films such as 'The Green Mile,' 'We Were Soldiers,' Clint Eastwood's 'Flags of our Fathers' and Spike Lee's '25th Hour,' continuing to keep the watermark of his body of work at the highest level of quality before being cast in a string of leading man roles in incredibly diverse genres for 'Knockaround Guys,' The Snow Walker' and '61' for which he received a Golden Globe nomination.

This sudden rise in consistently working with auteur directors on top of receiving awards attention led Barry to taking over the role of Tom Ripley for the 2005 follow up 'Ripley Under Ground' and being selected by Tommy Lee Jones as the lead for Jones's directorial debut 'The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada' that same year.

Barry soared to new heights with back-to-back Oscar-worthy performances opposite Winona Ryder and Academy Award Winner Mira Sorvino in the dramas 'When Love is Not Enough' and especially in 'Like Dandelion Dust' which resulted in him being touted as "the new Brando," something that especially becomes evident when watching his brooding and tortured performance as a former convict determined to rebuild his marriage and win his son back in a haunting performance that lingers with viewers long after watching.

Winning the Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor for his portrayal of Bobby Kennedy in the mini-series 'The Kennedys,' Barry then featured steadily in huge studio releases for The Coen Brothers and producing legend Jerry Bruckheimer in 'True Grit' and Disney's 'The Lone Ranger' before joining the Maze Runner franchise in the recurring role of Vince and returning as a leading man in the popular creature flick 'Crawl' which was famously quoted as being Quentin Tarantino's favourite film experience of 2019.

Still proving himself to be a dramatic force of nature in one of his most stoic but surprisingly emotional performances in the new crime thriller 'Bring him to Me,' we remain as excited as ever to see what Barry is working on next and based on his performances already in 'The Snow Walker,' 'Three Burials,' 'The Kennedys,' '61,' '25th Hour' and 'Like Dandelion Dust,' he arguably has demonstrated more range, emotional depth, naturalistic character inhabitation and dramatic screen presence than Brando maintained over the course of his career since that special debut as Private Jackson.
