Uridium 2 Longplay (Amiga AGA) [QHD] [Mayhem Mode]

The original Uridium became a poster-child on the C64, thanks to its ground-breaking scrolling and sense of pace. Uridium 2 takes the same template, then turns everything up to 11. It's one of the fastest games on the Amiga, and AGA machines (A1200, A3000 etc.) could push the boundaries even further.

The objective is to destroy a series of dreadnought battlecruisers, taking out waves of fighters and deck guns as you wait for the opportunity to land. Once inside, you must destroy the reactor core using your Gundam-inspired mech-suit, before jetting off to the next battle.

As for the AGA-exclusive "Mayhem Mode", this is perhaps the "ultimate" Uridium 2 experience; it really is quite bananas. You get faster scrolling, more enemies and projectiles, and just looks down-right amazing.

The speed of the game is so insane, it's likely you'll miss out on some of the finer details:
1) Your ship's afterburner will actually destroy ships and gun emplacements hit by the backdraft.
2) Changing direction constitutes as an evasive manoeuvre, making it possible to dodge enemy shots
3) Many parts of the dreadnought display visual signs of damage when bombed
