RO2024 Approach to the patient with a chronic psychotic disorder in the district. Dr Aboobaker

Описание к видео RO2024 Approach to the patient with a chronic psychotic disorder in the district. Dr Aboobaker

Mental health is hugely neglected in our district and rural settings regarding budget, resources, and support. There are only a handful of public sector psychiatrists in each province, and the responsibility for the care of patients with psychotic disorders falls largely on the district doctor.
This webinar demystifies the care of our patients with psychosis and plots a practical way forward.

Dr Adila Aboobaker qualified as a Psychiatrist from Walter Sisulu University in 2021. She was previously based at the Cecilia Makiwane Mental Health Unit and recently moved to the Amathole Health District in June 2023. Adila is now part of the Mental Health DCST and provides the district with psychiatric support.
She enjoys engaging with colleagues to help uplift their skills in mental health care and wishes to one day bring a positive change to the state of mental health services in the Amathole Health region.
She is also a wife and mom to two cuties.
