[ 4k ] Setagaya Hachimangu Autumn Festival 2019 - Walking in Tokyo, Japan

"Autumn matsuri held at Setagaya Hachimangu, one of the larger shrines in Setagaya Ward. Notable for the dohyo (sumo ring) set up in the grounds of the shrine and the honosumo (奉納相撲) event. These were contests during the Edo period that took place at three shrines (the other two being Hikawa Shrine in Shibuya and Oi Kashima Shrine in Shinagawa). For the autumn festival, members of the Tokyo University of Agriculture sumo wrestling club come to show their prowess in the ring." -Japanistry

Unfortunately the Sumo event took place the day before 😭, but the carrying of the mikoshi to the shrine took place instead on the second day.
