Boktai 2 Any% Speedrun RTA in

So here's a much different run from the other two I have up on my channel here. This run was done on emulator, which means that there are a whole bunch of time saves and tricks that can be done here that are impossible on console. Most notably, direct control of the sun by Select +D-Left or D-Right. This means that purifications are sped up considerably, as well as times where I need to charge my ENE. Max sun also allows for the full use of dash, where it becomes a big part of the run, both in execution and in magic equipping.

I call this route 2.0 because I did somewhat of an overhaul from my console runs. This new route incorporates the emulator changes as stated above as well as "risky strats". These include no armor for much of the first half of the game, as you usually move faster without it. It also includes much more aggresive tactics for the bosses, which can either save some time or cause a whole lot of time loss, as deaths usually mean 1 minute or more lost. This means that the leveling had to be changed too, and it now includes a bit more enemy killing to get good speed and strength for those bosses.

This was a very nice run! I say this mostly because of the immense time save at Undead Zone. I have a couple of runs on my Twitch channel that I did before uploading here. Old PB died a lot to the mini bosses, but this run was near perfect in beating them. A "new" strat for actually using a spear to beat Serpent saves a bunch of time too and reduces RNG.

Early game was so-so. I got bad RNG on forging the short sword, which wastes about 45 seconds. That was my biggest time loss though, which is very nice! Now just to clean up the little stuff...

Side note: sum of best as of this run is 2:01:23. Let's see if we can get it to sub 2 hours!
