It’s the end of Day 3 of my Octopus Cosy 9 air source heat pump installation, and despite a scorching mini-heatwave here in the UK, the team worked tirelessly through a very hot day—up in my loft with sun streaming in from my south-facing garden—getting everything nearly finished!

Today was a big milestone: the heat pump was powered on and tested for the first time, and I could feel the radiators warming up after the system had been filled and bled. 🥳

Here’s what happened:
— The Cosy Hub was installed in the (now former) boiler cupboard, along with a new immersion heater for emergency backup hot water.
— I chose to hide the Cosy Hub neatly away since we’ll mostly use the Octopus app to control everything, with the 3 Cosy Pods dotted around the house
— They installed nearly all the new pipework and connected the heat pump.

Meanwhile, the gas account has now vanished from my Octopus app—completely shut down after the meter was removed yesterday!

Excited for Day 4, which could be the final day, including the system handover and full integration with the Octopus Energy app on my phone!
