The Casio SX-C1 sampler surprised me at NAMM. I love the recent rise of powerful but portable samplers, and the SX-C1’s Game Boy–style design, sequencer, and clip-launch style sample playback made it a real standout on the show floor.
That said, it’s still clearly a work in progress, with some core sampler features, like chromatic playback, not yet implemented.
I’m genuinely looking forward to seeing how it develops.
