How to Palm a NEEDLE DRIVER

Here's how to palm a needle driver in the operating room. If you want to be a badass in the operating room, you must be familiar with palming the needle driver. Opening and closing the instrument using your thumb and index finger is slower and limits your maneuverability. Avoid doing that. Good surgery is all about efficiency and economy of movement! To palm a needle driver:

1 - Put the needle driver on your hand.
2 - Use your thumb to push the top of the needle driver sideways to unlock it, and then up to open it.
3 - To close it, you simply clamp down and it will lock it into place.

Keep practicing and get good at it. It is going to make a world of a difference when it comes to suturing in the operating room.
