When this came out, I didn't think it was for me — I remembered the book from childhood, and figured the movie would just be kiddie fluff. What I didn't know is that Lord & Miller were about to prove themselves as two of the funniest and sharpest directors in Hollywood . They actually got fired from this movie during pre-production, only to be hired back and completely reshape it into the joke-a-second pun machine we got.

Rewatching now, it's wild how much this still works — it's a Zucker Brothers–style gag fest disguised as a kids' movie, and it's cringey in all the right ways. Here are my 3 favorite things:
🍔 It's cringey — and that's okay
🚀 The prediction of the tech bro (Elon could've learned from this one)
📺 The TV gag is timeless
