I have hundreds (thousands?) of video notes of me working on my truck build. I'm trying to organize them into videos I can share on YouTube. Disclaimer these are my NOTES so do your own research when you build your engine and work on your vehicle.

Four part series on installing rocker arms

Part 2 - Bronze Trunions versus Rullers    • Part 2 LS Rocker Arms, Bronze Trunion...

Part 4 - Yella Terra Rocker Install    • Part 4 Installing Yella Terra Shaft M...

I did the trunion rebuild kit that's all too popular. There's a few varieties. I didn't realize that at the time. I bought the least expensive thinking it was the only rebuild it. Then I installed short throw lifters with a very TIGHT preload spec. After 12,000 miles ALL my preload was gone. The bronze bushings had egg shelled out.

I kind of wondered about this when I bought the bronze kit but seems everybody was doing that. The bronze bushing wears out on them. Depending on the kit you use, it could be after a few thousand miles in my case or tens of thousands of miles. However, it's a perishable item.

I started looking at rocker arm kits. Previously I used Comp Cams full roller rockers on my LT1 build. They worked great. However, I wasn't a bit reluctant to pull the trigger as they stuff had gotten so pricey!

There were many other new names I'm not familiar with. Then I called Roger Vinci. He's a valvetrain engineer. His family has been designing valvetrain parts since 1960? basically for a long time.

He told me about these he helped design. They're Yella Terra. I read his white paper on rocker arms. They are more expensive than the Comp Cams I was looking at but you get MUCH more for your money. These are shaft mount rockers, and SUPER I mean SUPER DUPER light weight.

Here's me opening the box and seeing what's inside. VERY impressed!

He can even build you stuff per your spec. Really cool!!
