The minecraft 1.18 snapshot 21w38a for minecraft java edition just released today. I will show you all the additions, changes and fixes added to this snapshot! Sprinting in minecraft has undergone a slight change, now if you run at a wall at a very small angle you will no longer get slowed down to walking speed. Copper now generates up to y95 and is more common. Lapis lazuli now generates in blobs again. A new option was added to the video settings called simulation distance. This is the distance within which entities will be updated. Furthermore there are two more technical changes, the maximum amount of background threads has been increased and telemetry has been added for world loading. All of these technical changes have the aim to increase the performance in the new update!
