The Bharatiya Janata Party coalition partner AIADMK created a fresh controversy this week when AIADMK supremo Jayalalitha demanded that all those Union Ministers who have been charge-sheeted in court cases should resign. This demand follows the resignation from the Union Council of Ministers of AIADMK MP R. Muthiah after a special court in Chennai framed corruption charges against him.

Jayalalitha says "There cannot be one set of rules for Mr Muthiah and another set of rules for other politicians. There cannot be one set of rules for the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam and another set of rules for other political parties. So what applies to Mr Muthiah should apply to all others in similar circumstances."
