In 2005, a strange sight awaited the boats travelling past Crosby Beach in Liverpool.

On the beach, staring back at them, were 100 6 foot tall statues. They were all models of Anthony Gormley, who famously created the Angel of the North, and they stretched across the sands.

The original idea was for it to be temporary, but nearly 20 years later, the now weathered statues are still standing on the beach, staring at the sea.
